Belmont Stakes

The Belmont Stakes is a thoroughbred horse race held at Belmont Park. It began in 1867 and has been held every June since then, besides in 1911 and 1912 when an anti-gambling law was in place. The horse with the biggest margin of victory is the well-known Secretariat, who claimed this achievement in 1973.

Crowds were excited for the 2018 Belmont Stakes because of American Thoroughbred racehorse, Justify. Justify had already won the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes in May, and by also winning the Belmont Stakes, he became the only winner of the American Triple Crown to never lose a race in his career.
